After a brief hiatus, the Anonymous Society of Artists will resume our regular meeting schedule in late November, beginning with a plein air drawing and painting session at an exciting new location: the Bayfront Marin House Bed & Breakfast in Downtown St. Augustine. Marin House owners, Sandy and Mike, have graciously invited us to draw and paint on their historic waterfront property from any one of a number of gorgeous vantage points. Their outdoor brick patio is lush with green grass and flowers and offers scenic views of the historic house. Artists are also invited to work from the upstairs balcony which overlooks the Matanzas Bay.
In contrast to our outdoor painting adventures at parks and boat ramps, we’ll enjoy a little hospitality this time, with chairs, ice water, and coffee provided as well as bathroom access. Guests of the B & B will be enjoying breakfast on the patio in the morning, so please be courteous. Also, photos will be taken to help promote the Bayfront Marin House and our art group. If you would prefer not to be photographed, just let us know.
Driving Directions and Parking
For those driving in to town from St. Augustine Beach and Davis Shores, cross the Bridge of Lions and turn left onto Avenida Menendez. For those coming from US1, take King Street toward Downtown and at its end, turn right onto Avenida Menendez. Follow Avenida Menendez south. Once you are near Santa Maria Restaurant, look for available street parking. The Marin House is a yellow building with ample signage, located on the corner of Bridge Street and Avenida Menendez.
