Davenport Park and Carousel

It was a lovely afternoon for artists at the park. Inspiration was easy with the brightly colored carousel (decorated for the Holidays), and the playful energy of kids and families spending time together. While considering the geometric patterns of the visual field, or the choice of colors for mixing on the palette you could overhear parents coaching their kids with play. How do you swing higher? How do you get on the monkey bars? All with a little help and good cheer. Then the bell would ring at the Carousel as a warning for those drawing or painting that only a few more seconds remained before kinetic energy would blur the view. This was a great exercise for control and discipline with narrowing the scope of view and balancing composition with lots of distraction.
