A reminder that we are having a Paint-out at Davenport Park/Carousel which is located near St. Augustine’s Downtown Public Library at the corner of San Marco Ave and W. San Carlos Ave, 32084.  Join us for a casual gathering with plenty of seating at picnic tables and the option to  set-up your easel in the shade of an oak tree.  This location is one of our favorites.

If you would like to create your own interpretation of this setting with fabric or other mixed media which is environmentally friendly, then we welcome your creativity and expression.  I would like to extend a warm welcome to An Marshall of the Saint Augustine Arts Guild who was part of the creative team which completed a series of quilt panels which will be on display at the VIC (Visitor Information Center) in two weeks.  It is a depiction of our town’s timeline and local culture and will travel to Tallahassee and around Florida as an educational endeavor.  Her goal is to visit Saint Augustine’s local landmarks and depict the images with fabrics and sewing.

Also I would like to extend a warm welcome to three artists who were featured during our recent art walk.  Marlena O’Brien Block has an exhibit of acrylics hanging at the Dow Museum.  For someone who has no formal training, her grasp of color and light is show-stopping.  Keith Doles is showing his mixed media paintings at the Georgia Nick Gallery at Aviles Street.  Check our his work for refreshing perspectives and a theme of community/communication.  And last but not least, Joe “Rocco” has a solo show at his new Family Barber Shop, 806 Anastasia Blvd St. Augustine, FL 32080.

Hope to see you Sunday Morning!  There’s plenty of parking and there’s coffee across the street.
