Lakeside Park for Thursday

Dates: Thursday, October 25 and November 1, 2012
Time: 5pm until sunset
Location: Lakeside Park, 2300 A1A South, St. Augustine Beach, FL

Lakeside Park Veteran’s Memorial Sculpture Garden in St. Augustine Beach will be the site for our next two plein air drawing and painting sessions on Thursday, October 25 and November 1. These will be our last two evening sessions before we switch to a new weekly schedule, so if you are up for the challenge of painting in changing light conditions, please join us.

Lakeside Park opened just last year and sits behind the St. Augustine Beach Police Department. Artists seeking a scenic view may set up on the wooden boardwalk that followings along the edge of Lake Anhinga. Artists may also choose to render one of the many works of local sculptors which are on display throughout the park.

To get to the park from downtown St. Augustine, cross over the Bridge of Lions and continue southbound on Anastasia Boulevard (A1A South) for roughly 3 miles. Turn left onto 16th Street and then take the first right onto Old Beach Road. Old Beach will end in the parking lot of the Lakeside Park. We’ll all meet right at the entrance at 5pm.

We are dedicating these sessions to friend and sculptor Thomas Glover W. who passed away in May of this year.
