St. Augustine’s Anonymous Society of Artists will hold their third meeting on Friday, July 15th from 5pm until 7pm. The location will be 3 Cordova Street, St. Augustine FL, 32084 – the Ripley’s Red Sightseeing Train building next to Ann O’Malley’s Pub in downtown St. Augustine.

Our topic will be the Moorish revival building called Castle Warden. Built in 1887 by William Grey Warden it became Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum in 1950.

There will be an informal lecture about William G. Warden and his mansion.  Artists are encouraged to visit 19 San Marco Avenue and create a pastiche of the building. Imitate the style of your favorite artist and bring your work and an example of the artistic style you copied to our next meeting for an open discussion.  The group is also organizing portrait and outdoor sketch sessions at a variety of locations.

Both artists and art lovers are welcome to participate.  Admission will be $2.00 for artists and $5.00 for those who love art.
