Flagler Beach Paint Out – March 1 to 7, 2014

CALLING ALL PAINTERS

Mark your calendars for March 1 through 7th, 2014 to join the Gallery of Local Art painters in painting the beautiful Flagler Beach seascapes.

The schedule and events for this paint out have incorporated all the suggestions from the previous plein air event. We thank all the contributors for their honest and helpfulness in making this event super! Suggestions include: Chairperson not participate in judged event, social events are included, plein air event should be main theme, and tent used for reception.

Goal of the paint out: To give local artists another venue in displaying and selling their art in an ocean side gallery. To draw attention to the beauty and charm of Flagler Beach area. Also, the event draws new customers to the Gallery of Local Art for future sales of all artwork.

Cost for the paint out is $35 and includes the following:

Saturday, March 1st
9:00 a.m.
– Complementary Pastries and Coffee provided at sign-in and stamping of canvases/paper
10:30 a.m. – Optional painting group paint out at the Flagler Beach Pier area
6:30 p.m. – Complementary Dinner for you and spouse at the Barnhill residence on the Ocean in Flagler Beach 2715 Oceanshore Blvd. Flagler Beach

Sunday, March 2nd
9:00 a.m. – sign-in and stamping of canvases/paper
1:00 p.m. – Optional painting group paint out at the Flagler Beach Pier area

Monday, March 3rd
10:00 a.m. – sign-in and stamping of canvases/paper
11:00 a.m. – Optional plein air group painting at Gamble Rodgers Memorial State Recreation area, 3100 S. Oceanshore Blvd. $5 per car load.

Tuesday, March 4th
10:00 a.m. – sign-in and stamping of canvases/paper
11:00 a.m. – Optional plein air group painting at Bulow Plantings Ruins Historic State Park 3501 Old Kings Road, Flagler Beach, $4 per car load

Wednesday, March 5th
10:00 a.m. – sign-in and stamping of canvases/paper
12:00 noon – Lunch at Sweet Waters Smokehouse, Bar and Grill, 820 Mood Lane (Under the Bridge}
1:00 p.m. – Optional plein air group painting around the Sweet Waters Smokehouse, Bar and Grill area

Thursday, March 6th
10:00 a.m. – Optional plein air group painting at Betty Steflik Memorial Preserve 815 Moody Lane, South of Rt 100, East side of ICW

Friday, March 7th
4:00 p.m. – Artists hang their paintings up on the wall of GOLA in assigned space. As many paintings that can possibly fit in a space assigned: (22 by 88). Please limit the size of your paintings to fit within this space after paintings are framed.
4:15 p.m. – Judging will take place. Judges are: Justin Wintersmith, Director of Flagler Beach Fine Art Festival; Deirdre Rutledge, MFA and Fine Arts teacher in Flagler County; and, Jim Challenger, publisher of the Destination Flagler Beach magazine
5:00 p.m. – Reception for plein air artists and friends, relatives, neighbors.

*We need each artists to invite at least 5 people to the reception to make it a success
so that you can show off your work plus we can have new people to know where GOLA
is located and to increasing sales of artwork at GOLA. ONE PAINTING PER ARTIST WILL
REMAIN AT GOLA FOR ONE MONTH FOR SALE AT THE GALLERY OF LOCAL ART. ALL ART
WORK SOLD WILL BE BASED ON A 70/30 PERCENTAGE WITH 70% GOING TO THE ARTIST.
