New Schedule of Events

After some deliberation among our group of artists, we have come up with a new schedule of events to take us through March of 2013. This weekly schedule will include both plein air events as well as new indoor drawing sessions. Most every event will take place at 3pm on Sunday, however, we will alternate between two Sundays of plein air and two Sundays of indoor drawing.

By introducing indoor drawing sessions, we hope to engage local artists who may not be interested in plein air drawing and painting in order to form a regular sketch group. The location for these sessions will be the Hyppo Café at 1765 Tree Boulevard #5 which is across from the Cobblestone Village Shopping Center. We will keep our first few meetings open ended and look at adding more structure later on based upon feedback from the participants. If you would like to join us for our first meeting tomorrow, November 4th, please bring your own drawing materials, and any sketches, artwork or prints you might like to share with the group. During the meeting you may draw anything that interests you.

For our plein air sessions, we will continue our custom of visiting each site twice. Our first location will be Davenport Park on November 18 and 25, followed by Eddie Vickers Park, Butler Park West, and then the Mission of Nombre De Dios. Should the weather be too cold or rainy for outdoor artmaking on any given Sunday, we will retreat to the Hyppo Café instead.

Below is our schedule showing all of the dates, times and locations. Please note that we will start one hour earlier than usual on December 16 and 23 in order to overlap our visit to Eddie Vickers Park with the Lincolnville Farmers Market. Thank you for reading. We hope to see you out there!
