This last week has been remarkable, the land, the people and the opportunity to churn out a painting a day under inspiring guidance has combined into a once in a life experience. My only regret is that I can’t spend more time with the teacher and the other artists I’ve met.

We had three days of unseasonably sunny weather after a few gnarly ‘Irish’ days at the start then today we were rained into the studio to talk, laugh and complete what we had started. I can’t say enough about Dorothee Roberts our delightful French instructor. She pushed each of us just enough, smiled through it all and always knew just what to say. The Burren Painting Center is a comfortable, professional operation that has specialized in ‘Painting Holidays’ for thirty years.

Tomorrow I’ll pack it all up and take the #50 bus up to Balleyvaughan, a village nestled in the hills on Galway Bay for a few days. There are still a few blank canvas panels left so I hope to keep working.

By, the way, Irish food is excellent.
